山东大学物理学院始建于1930年，是山东大学早的院系之一，时为山东大学物理系。目前学院下设3个系，物理系、应用物理系、微电子系。4个研究所，凝聚态物理研究所、粒子物理与原子核物理研究所、光电材料与器件研究所、原子分子物理研究所。设有专门负责实验教学的物理实验教学中心和负责基础物理教学的大学物理教学研究中心。
